Imposter Syndrome started dancing.
Last week, I told the story of staring down a blinking cursor on my “About” page, legs twitching, and heart buzzing as the gremlins in my head muttered to me “Get it right or don’t say anything at all.”
Imposter Syndrome had slipped on his dance shoes.
Perfectionism turned up the volume.
Anxiety grabbed the mic.
And I got sucker punched in the gut as my Audacity slipped out the side door.
This week’s post is for paid subscribers and offers the practical tools I’ve used to call Audacity back.
If you’ve ever felt your thighs tighten the moment you try to take up space…
If you’ve ever felt your knees wobble right before you speak your truth…
If you’ve ever wanted to say something bold, only to go quiet in your body first—
Then these protocols are for you.
Inside this week’s post, you’ll find a30-second somatic exercise to activate your Audacity and banish Imposter Syndrome, Perfectionism, and Anxiety to the in-school suspension room.
I use this exercise in any number of situations…below are a few examples:
when someone asks you to do something and you need to say NO
when someone peer pressures you to do something you don’t want to do
when someone talks over you
when you feel insecure (such as just before giving a speech)
when you feel like someone isn’t listening to what you are trying to say
when you’ve been repeatedly interrupted
when you’ve said NO several times and are still feeling pressure
